Anyone else here own one? I have the 2nd version of it and it’s turned out to be a great buy. So many knobs, controllers and a touchscreen its a total joy to work with. The sonic possibilities are almost limitless, especially if you record your own samples with it.
My biggest complaint is every time I get into editing a patch 2-3 hours go by like nothing. The thing is so much fun to program you totally lose track of time having fun tweaking the hell out of sounds.
I’m still learning to use mine but I can already tell she’s a keeper!

Lately I’ve become addicted to the V-Synth’s awesome non-linear reverb effect. The multi-stage envelope permits creating very unusual and unearthly atmospheres and environments. In addition to some creative EQing it’s entirely possible to add new synthesis voices into a sound in addition to those sourcing that sound.
Then I began to think how cool it would be to apply these reverbs to other instruments and sources. It’s possible to run external audio through the V-synth but it requires sacrificing an oscillator to do so. And it means that the V-Synth is then devoted to being an effects unit.
So I started wondering about what else I have with similar functionality and focused on my Roland SRV 3030. Turns out it contains the same exact non-linear Reverb algorithm as the V-synth and I never knew about it before. My often ignored SRV3030 has just risen to new heights in my studio. I can’t wait to recreate some of the awesome V-synth effects I’ve come up with and apply them to my other synths without tying up the V-Synth. Pretty cool!

Now I’m focused on poking the arpeggiator with a stick and seeing what it can do. It’s proving to be very powerful and the easiest programmable arpeggiator I’ve ever seen. The sequences you create can contain chords, differing note divisions and rests among others and essentially functions much like a sequencer with step editing abilities. It’s even possible to insert controller events but the implementation requires you to know which CC numbers to use.
Seriously cool and very useful feature. And doesn’t induce headaches when trying to accomplish complex patterns.

Sounds like a nice piece of gear. Have to check one out now.

Sounds like a nice piece of gear. Have to check one out now. Highly recommended. Another fun thing to do with it is to add an amp simulator into the synth blocks and then another one in the effects processor and then run the output into an actual guitar amp. Holy mother of Dog! If that doesn't wake the dead nothing will

Been digging into the feedback oscillators lately and they are really neat. These things provide such complex harmonic shifts and are a total blast when modulating their parameters with real time controllers such as the trip pad and d-beam. Sheer insanity ensues when you create a patch with both oscillators set for feedback with both feeding the waveshaper COSM model and then combined together with FM or ringmod. This can easily devolve into nothing but white noise but with thoughtful tweaking an entire spectrum of shrieking banshees and howling souls can be found.
Seriously powerful shit!
